In this episode, Brandon discusses the basics of starting a sci-fi short story/novel while also discussing the 5 RULES OF SCIENCE FICTION WRITING by legendary author Robert Heinlein.
Breaking into the science-fiction genre in the literary/publishing world is not an easy walk in the park, but it is surprisingly simple once you have finished a manuscript and/or a series of short stories in a sci-fi magazine.
Brandon discusses some basic starting points for those who are interested in completing a sci-fi short story or novel as well as what a person needs to do in order to understand the literary marketplace — in other words, once you’re done with your story, who do you sell it to?
Brandon also discusses some good sci-fi writing classes online as well as the new Morningside Writers Science Fiction Workshop based out of Harlem in NYC.
